My Story

I plan to change the world’s view on the use of drinking more water by reading this book and educating yourself on the value of water in your body! I have learned the value of water in my body through a principle I call, managing your life through water!

My experience and revelation with dehydration started on a Thursday morning as I was walking to a job interview. I noticed my mouth was very dry as I was walking. Always remember, the “last sign” of dehydration is a dry mouth. Later that day as I was finishing my errands, I noticed something unusual happening. I felt something move in my chest, but I did not understand what had just happened. I grabbed a bottle of water, and finished my errands. When I got home, my wife and I had dinner, and I went to bed for the night as usual.

The next morning, as I was running up the steps at my neighborhood YMCA to work out, I was so short of breath that I had to sit down for a moment. I could not run up the normal two flights of stairs to the cardio area as I normally do. Immediately, I thought this was just GERD, and I took a licorice tablet to alleviate the discomfort from GERD. I sat down for a few more minutes and tried the steps again, but my body could not make it up the two flights of stairs, so I decided to go back home. This type of shortness of breath I have never experienced before, and it was very concerning to me.

On my way home, I called my doctor to set up an appointment for this shortness of breath I was experiencing. On the way to the doctor’s office that morning, I decided to stop by the emergency room to have my blood pressure checked. The emergency room doctor convinced me to stay for further testing and blood work. Your body will always tell you what is going on through your blood work. After a series of tests, I discovered I had experienced a “DVT” Pulmonary Embolism on Thursday while running my errands. I did not even realize what had actually happened on Thursday afternoon until I was running the steps at the YMCA the next morning.

DVT actually means Deep Vein Thrombosis in medical terms. A thrombosis is a stationary clot that stays in the area where it is formed. If that clot, called a thrombus, or a portion of that clot breaks off and flows through in the bloodstream to a different spot, it is now termed an Embolus. Pulmonary Embolism describes a condition in which a thrombus breaks off from its initial position in the leg and travels to the lungs.

On that Friday morning, while running into the gym to workout, dehydration tried to kill me. This is why I now refer to dehydration as, The Silent Killer. My body was severely “dehydrated,” and it almost cost me my life. I thank GOD every day now for this opportunity to share my experience with people around the world. I will never allow my body to be mismanaged again by dehydration. Keep in mind, I was drinking water every day. Are you dehydrated right now and don’t know it?

Drinking the right amount of water at the right time during the day is the difference between life and death, literally!
